On April 3, CPL is partnering with Perennial STL to bring you 2 sewing + mending virtual workshops! Register on Zoom for a free sewing kit! Kits available for pickup at the library. Sign up for one or both workshops! Only 1 kit required if you are attending both workshops.

April 3 @ 1PM: BEGINNER HAND SEWING + REPAIRS

Join the creative folks of Perennial for this live demonstration, where you’ll learn some great introductory sewing + mending techniques! We’ll show you all the sewing basics, including how to thread a needle, start + end a stitch, and complete a basic running stitch. We’ll also cover a few simple repairs, including sewing a button back on, and doing a simple garment patch! Grab your own scissors and pick up a kit of materials from the library to join us for this virtual demonstration!


April 3 @ 3PM: INTERMEDIATE HAND SEWING + REPAIRS

If you’re looking to improve upon your basic sewing skills, then join Perennial for this live demonstration, where we’ll show you some great intermediate hand sewing techniques! You’ll learn a variety of new stitches, including a basic backstitch, an invisible finishing stitch, some tips and tricks for pressing, cutting, and pinning fabric. Grab your own sharp scissors (and iron + cutting mat, if you have it!) and pick up a kit of materials from the library to join us for this virtual demonstration!
