Financial Aid Application Completion Workshop

Tue., August 27 @ 6:00 pm 7:30 pm

Need money for college? Not sure how to fill out your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), or, if eligible, the Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid? The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) has you covered!

This free Financial Aid Application Completion workshop is for students and their families who need assistance with their FAFSAs or anything related to the college-going process (e.g., college application, creating a financial aid application account). Join us at The Carbondale Public Library on Tuesday, August 27th, 6:00pm – 7:30pm.

WHAT TO BRING + PREPARE:
Financial Aid Application Completion Workshops helps students and parents by answering questions about financial aid applications and providing assistance with filling out your financial aid application on the spot. To take full advantage of this program, please bring:

  • Your 2022 federal tax returns, W-2’s, and other records of money earned.
  • Banking statements and records of investments (if applicable).
  • Records of untaxed income (if applicable).
  • List of colleges you would like to attend.
If you are completing the FAFSA, please also bring:
  • Social Security Number. Be sure it is correct!
  • Your Alien Registration Number, if you (student) are not a U.S. citizen.
  • An FSA ID. Note: Students and parents must each have a verified FSA ID to complete the FAFSA. Plan on setting up your FSA ID at studentaid.gov/FSA-ID at least one week prior to completing the FAFSA, since it will take some time for the verification process.
