Building a Regional Transportation Hub

Join AAUW for this educational program with speaker Gary Williams, Carbondale City Manager, who will share information about The Southern Illinois Multimodal Station, the result of years of planning and partnerships, beginning in 2013. Following years of legislative advocacy and multiple grant attempts, the City was able to secure sufficient funding, and the project is underway with a targeted completion date of January 2025. When complete, the building will include 18,000 sf of transportation related space, a Man-Tra-Con workforce office, and co-working space. This event will be taking place in person at the Carbondale Public Library and online.
