Coloring and Cartoons: May 30, 4-5 PM Do you need a little time to chill during finals week? Come watch cartoons and color with us. We’ll have all sorts of coloring sheets on hand along with a big supply of colored pencils, gel pens & markers. Cartoons TBD.

Are you an anime fan? Would you like to meet others who are too? We invite you join our brand new teen Anime Club. Each month we’ll get our otaku on, watching anime, doing anime/manga themed crafts, eating Japanese snacks (like pocky) and more!

Thursdays, June 15-July 20, 3-5 PM
Join us downstairs on Thursdays for Wii U gaming, chess, checkers, card games, board games, and more! We have an awesome collection of new games for you to try out. *GAME ON IS FOR ALL AGES!

June 13, July 11, 4-5:30 PM
Calling all teen artists, crafters & makers. Come and share your skills and interests with other DIY’ers. Each month we’ll have a project on hand for you to try out. (You can also bring your own projects!) In June we’ll make custom buttons with our new button maker and in July we’ll turn old books into art journals.

June 27, July 25, 4-5:30 PM
Each month you’ll receive a new book that’s yours to keep. We’ll get together over snacks to discuss the book and make a craft or do an activity inspired by our book. Our first book is Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon. (Now a movie!) REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Email Jennifer Johansson –jjohansson@carbondale.lib.il.us to register and arrange book pickup.

Seeking Teen Volunteers for Summer 2017

Carbondale Public Library is seeking mature, hard-working, and reliable 12 – 17 year old volunteers for summer work. Selected volunteers will be asked to work at least one 3-hour shift each week and one weekend shift per summer. Those who are selected will begin on or after June 12th and may be scheduled for shifts through or on July 21st. Application deadline in June 7th. Head to the Library for an application or download from our website.

General Information about Teen Events at CPL
Teen events are totally FREE, always include snacks, and usually happen in the Library Meeting Room.
Programming is geared for participants ages 13-18.
Registration is not required for teen events unless specifically requested.
