Are you an anime fan? Would you like to meet others who are too? Join the teen Anime Club which meets the first Wednesday of every month. Get your otaku on, watching anime, doing anime/manga themed crafts, & eating Japanese snacks.
Tuesday, October 10, 4-5 PM
On the 2nd Tuesday of each month, teens with a flair for DIY get together to make cool stuff. In October, bring a bit of fall home with a candle DIY. Make a scented soy candle inside real a pumpkin or gourd. All supplies are provided.

Join us for some friendly competition as we play Runbow Deluxe, the critically acclaimed Wii U party game for up to 9 players. The world changes with each swipe of the background, so you’ll have to stay on your toes to make it through.

Book Club is getting a little creepy this month. Our October book is I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga and you’ll get a free copy of the book that’s yours to keep! On October 24th, we’ll get together over snacks to discuss the book and do an activity inspired by it. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. CALLING ALL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Take part in the Illinois Veterans History Project at Carbondale Public Library. You will conduct and record veteran interviews for inclusion in the Illinois Veterans History Project archives. We will work with young 21st century veterans, a vastly underrepresented group in the Illinois Veterans History project archives. You will gain a better understanding of what it means to serve in active military duty and the veterans will be able to share, preserve, and validate their stories in a very meaningful way.

PARTICIPATION PERKS – Get to know local young veterans. Gain experience with lighting, sound, and video gear. Learn interview skills with reporter from channel 3. Teen events are totally FREE, always include snacks, and usually happen in the Library Meeting Room.
Programming is geared for participants ages 12-18.
Registration is not required for teen events unless specifically requested.

Thursdays 4—5:30 PM, September 14 Through November 16
Heather Weatherwax from the Saluki Writer’s Project will lead a series of creative writing workshops for students currently in grades 9-12. Participants will learn how to properly critique writing and provide constructive criticism for fellow writers. All genres and levels of teen writers welcome.
