Project Next Generation (PNG)

 

Project Next Generation (PNG) is a FREE program for 5th-8th grade students at the Carbondale
Public Library. Participants will gain exposure to art and technology though a variety of
entertaining and engaging activities. There will be two unique sessions this spring and students
are welcome to sign up for one or both! No skills required, all supplies are included and an after
school snack is provided. Space is limited, register today!

MONDAYS: PAINTING & PUPPETRY, FEBRUARY 6 – MARCH 27 (No meeting February 20th)

  • INVESTIGATE THE ART & SCIENCE OF COLOR
  • WORK WITH ACRYLIC PAINTS ON CANVAS
  • PICK UP SOME FUN PAINTING TIPS & TRICKS
  • MAKE A PUPPET FOR THE ALL SPECIES PARADE
  • MAKE COOL STUFF

WEDNESDAYS: CODING & GAMING, FEBRUARY 15 – MARCH 29

  • LEARN CODING WITH FREE WEB-BASED TOOLS
  • USE SCRATCH TO MAKE GAMES & ANIMATIONS
  • PROGRAM THE ROBOTIC LEGOS WITH SCRATCH
  • COMPLETE WEEKLY CHALLENGES & WIN PRIZES
  • EXPERIMENT WITH JAVASCRIPT
  • MAKE COOL STUFF
  • LEARN AWESOME SKILLS!!
